To our valued clients:
As the Corona Virus continues to spread exponentially in our nation, and with confirmed cases in our local community, out of a concern for the wellbeing of our staff, clients, and community, I have made the difficult decision to close our physical office effective end of day Friday, March 27th. The physical office will remain closed for a minimum of 5 weeks, potentially reopening on May 4th. The week before that date, I will consider the latest guidance of medical experts and will determine the safest and most prudent decision on when to reopen.
We will continue to see clients via secure video teletherapy, without disruption
During this time, we will continue to offer the full range of our services through secure video based teletherapy. As about half of our clients have transitioned to teletherapy over the last few weeks, we have grown confident in our ability to continue to deliver the same quality of therapy services that you are accustomed to in our office. My trust in the staff at Centre Marriage and Relational Therapy to continue to care for our clients is one of the factors that made me confident in this decision. Your care is still in great hands that will continue to walk along side of you and help you navigate the journey of healing you have been on. All current scheduled sessions remain unchanged and will simply switch from in-person to video based.
These are uncertain and anxious times. Part of my decision to close for a full 5 weeks is to provide a sense of stability and predictability. There is at least one additional area of your life that you know what to expect and can rely on to be consistent. I want to avoid sudden and unexpected changes as much as possible. So, you will be notified with as much advance as possible on when this will change in May.
Outcome research informs us that couples counseling is more effective than individual therapy in identifying addiction and in moving the person with the addiction and family into recovery. With this in mind, we take a different approach to treating addiction. By focusing on the relationship instead of the individual we can help the whole family move into recovery.
