COVID-19 & Social Distancing

To our valued clients:

As the pandemic continues to develop, I am regularly keeping up-to-date and complying with both local and national guidance on safe practices to ensure the well being of both staff and clients. As the situation permits, we will continue to provide a limited number of in-person visits following our safety protocol outlined below. If for any reason you are not comfortable or able to comply with our protocol, you can be seen remotely via secure video based teletherapy.

In the event we would need to close the office, we will continue to see clients via secure video teletherapy, without disruption. Your scheduled in-person appointment will simply transition to teletherapy at the same scheduled day and time.

In person COVID protocol:

  • In order to limit the exposure of both clients and staff, we are staggering the days that therapists are seeing clients in the office. Only one therapist will utilize each waiting room per day. We encourage clients, if possible, to not arrive more then 5 minutes prior to your appointment. This should nearly eliminate close proximity to any other clients in the office.
  • At the beginning of your appointment, the therapist will come to their doorway, and welcome you back to the office from the waiting room. The therapist will then take their seat. As you enter the room, we will ask you to close the door. Once both client and therapist are seated, both may remove their masks for the remainder of the session. We have situated our rooms such that client and therapist are seated at least 6 feet apart, and can maintain that distance during the whole encounter.
  • At the conclusion of the session, we ask that both client and therapist don their facemask, client may open the door and leave the office. The therapist will then disinfect the door knob, so it is clean for the next client that comes into session.
  • Clients will be expected to wear a mask at all times while on premise, unless seated in the therapy room. This is for the safety of our staff, families, and community. We will have a limited supply of disposable masks if you do not have one. If you are not able or willing to wear a mask, then your appointments will be transitioned to teletherapy.
  • We have provided ample access to hand sanitizer in each waiting room and therapy office, and ask that you use it as needed when you arrive and depart.
  • If you have knowingly been exposed to someone with COVID-19, have had a positive test yourself, or are showing any symptoms but haven’t yet been tested, we ask you to cancel your appointment at no charge until you are symptom-free or otherwise no longer contagious. Your place in our schedule will be reserved for your return.

As always, we ask for patience and understanding as we all navigate these challenging and unprecedented times.
